LGBTQIA+

We at Confluence Health care deeply about our community and all the diverse members that call North Central Washington home. For over a century, providing healthcare has been our mission and focus, and we feel this care should be accessible, affordable, timely, and done with respect and empathy for all.

We know our LGBTQIA+ neighbors can often face barriers when seeking healthcare, including discrimination, ignorance, and fear. Our goal at Confluence Health is to set a new standard where all patients can expect to have their diverse healthcare needs addressed in a safe environment where they can be honest and vulnerable, allowing them to seek out the medical services they need and deserve without hesitation. Our goal is that every patient knows that their health provider is there for them and all their needs, no matter what.

This commitment to providing a welcoming and understanding healthcare system requires constant work and revision. To maintain this high standard, we’re constantly working to expand cultural competence in caring for LGBTQIA+ patients by providing training for staff to better understand and meet needs, along with supporting a review group that actively works on our internal and external policies to make sure we are meeting the needs of all patients. This reflection and growth model helps us to ensure Confluence Health remains a leader in inclusion and LGBTQIA+ healthcare.
