Job Description


The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst works closely with business and technology teams to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. It is essential that they build an understanding of the business at a level of detail that enables them to identify and address critical issues. They provide data that is accurate, congruent and reliable, and ensure the information is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems. The senior BI Analysts educate and train clients to use the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new forms and content for the purpose of analysis and option exploration.


Design business use cases for leadership in the development of operational reports to manage day-to-day operations.

Influence the use of best-practices regarding data analysis and reporting techniques.

Acquire and blend data from primary or secondary sources and maintain databases.

Build business rules to filter and cleanse data to ensure consistency in coding.

Utilize report writing tools from Confluence-wide operational systems to provide data and reports.

Model and statistically analyze data in order to identify trends or patterns.

Analyze and evaluate clinical, operational, and financial systems and processes lead process improvement.

Lead initiatives with information technology during upgrades, implementations, and interfaces.

Develops and implements solutions that meet operational improvement needs. Ensures that decisions are supported by relevant stakeholders and sound performance data.

Drive feasibility analysis of major capital projects and in financial feasibility analysis of inpatient/hospital and outpatient lines of business.

Educate management in issues related to financial analysis tools and trends.

Bachelor’s degree preferred or two additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Prefer five + years of experience with business intelligence as a data or reporting analyst.

Extensive experience with data warehouse and reporting technologies.

Extensive experience with data mining techniques leveraging SQL and other extract tools.

Extensive experience with data analysis, ensuring quality and consistency with data solutions.

Prefer experience in the healthcare field.


Maintain all state licensing requirements.

Take ongoing training that is required by Confluence Health.

Ability to attend classes/seminars and complete certification(s) as assigned.


Deep understanding of one or more major components of the business enterprise.

Able to identify and describe the current technology and products and services.

Provides a business-based rationale for determining the necessity of incremental improvements and communicates viewpoint using the customers’ own terminology.

Ability to keep professional demeanor in stressful circumstances

Ability to work independently and in team environments

Possess excellent oral, written and presentation skills

Superior time management and ability to prioritize tasks

Ability to identify key users/staff and development strong working relationships
