Congratulations Dr. Mitch Garrison, MD & Glenn Adams, SVP Ancillary Services—Seattle Business Magazine’s 2019 Leaders in Health Care Award Winners

Once again, Confluence Health has been honored by Seattle Business Magazine, featuring two of our talented leaders in their annual “Leaders in Health Care Award” Issue.

This year, WVMG Chairman Dr. Mitch Garrison, MD, won the “Outstanding Medical Group Executive” award, while Glenn Adams, SVP Ancillary Services, earned the Community Outreach Award for spearheading Confluence Health’s Opioid Take Back Program.

For Dr. Garrison, the award highlights a career filled with not only helping patients fight their battles against cancer, but successfully piloting the 250+ physicians of the Wenatchee Medical Group through positive change, spearheading the Board of Directors through a five-year strategic plan, recruiting 50 new physicians in the last 2 years, and championing a culture leading to an industry-leading 95% retention rate for our Physicians.

For Adams, the award underscores his team’s essential and important work developing a comprehensive and coordinated program addressing the prescription drug abuse epidemic in our communities and Central Washington. This included creating an Opioid Epidemic Response Team, developed workgroups affecting holistic changes in the way we deal with pain and chronic opioid use, and rolled out patient and staff education to that effect. Confluence Health, along with the Confluence Health Foundation, organized and paid for our Medication Take Back Program, now responsible for taking and responsibly disposing over 1600 pounds totaling over 2 billion pills from secure take back boxes in communities all throughout our region.
