Rehabilitation Services FAQ

Difference Between Outpatient and Inpatient?

“Inpatient” means that the procedure requires the patient to be admitted to the hospital, primarily so that he or she can be closely monitored during the procedure and afterwards, during recovery. “Outpatient” means that the procedure does not require hospital admission and may also be performed outside the premises of a hospital.

Why Acute Rehabilitation at Confluence Health?

Acute Rehabilitation at Confluence Health is recommended for a patient who requires a high degree of physician involvement along with a coordinated, intensive program of multiple medical specialties. Nursing homes and outpatient care offer less intensive programs. Whether a patient is recovering from a stroke, spinal cord or brain injury, or other trauma, we provide the support necessary to bring optimal recovery to each individual’s acute condition.
