The laboratory professionals at Confluence Health work closely with medical staff to provide excellent clinical and anatomic pathology services to both hospitalized patients and outpatients. The laboratory is committed to meeting the ever-changing healthcare needs of our community through continual education, process improvement and adoption of new technologies. Pathology

Pathology is a medical specialty that provides the scientific foundation for medical practice. Working with all other medical specialties, a pathologist uses the tools of laboratory medicine to provide information essential to solving problems in clinical practice.

Accreditation & Licensure

Confluence Health Hospital's Central Campus is fully accredited by the Joint Commission. To maintain our level of excellence, our laboratory subscribes to strict quality assurance programs and is certified by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and is CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act) licensed. Aside from fostering self-development and continuing education, our staff is required to complete competency testing each year to remain proficient in their field. Our board-certified pathologists, certified medical technologists, medical laboratory technicians and laboratory assistants all contribute to a proud tradition of medical excellence.

Phlebotomy Services

The phlebotomy staff at Confluence Health provide phlebotomy service in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. Services provided include routine adult and pediatric venipuncture or capillary collections, blood culture collection, and blood bank specimen collection. Special services include the collection of the H. pylori breath test and collection of urine specimens in an outpatient setting.
