Position Summary:

  • Responsible for greeting patients, providing assistance to patients, providing needed directions, assisting and directing traffic at the main entrance of assigned Confluence Health (CH) building(s). Assists with enforcement of parking rules.
Essential Functions:
    • Observant and alert for patient/visitor needs for assistance at the front entrance to assigned Confluence Health building(s).
    • Greets and converses with patients, visitors and staff.
    • Transports patients around assigned campus, to and from appointments, when needed.
    • Controls access at the main entrance and insures that the non-smoking policy is monitored and enforced.
    • Directs traffic and enforces parking rules to ensure entry remains accessible at all times.
    • Keeps the work and entry area clean and free of debris at all times. To include ashtrays and trash receptacles.
    • Assists with keeping the entry area and side walks free of ice/snow.
    • Knowledgeable about CH services, personnel and assigned campus layout. Able to provide directions and information to patients and visitors as needed.
    • Assists in monitoring parking lot. Enforces no parking areas and monitors parking for patients and employees.
    • Transports patients, visitors and staff via a courtesy shuttle as needed to and from parking lots to CH facility entrances and other campus facilities.
    • Coordinates patient pick up and drop off for ancillary appointments at other CH buildings as required.
  • Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.
  • Required:
    • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
    • Previous public contact experience required, ideally in a medical setting.
    • WA State Drivers License.
    • Clean driving record.
    • Ability to relate to the public in a warm and cheerful manner.
    • Ability to read, write and orally communicate effectively using the English language.
    • Must relate effectively with providers, staff, patients and the general public and function as part of a team.
    • Must have safe driving habits and techniques.
    • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision; to reason and think logically to solve problems; to use judgment and make decisions; to respond calmly in emergency situations; to maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information and able to function in a fast paced environment.
  • Desired:
    • Ability to communicate in Spanish.
