A neurologist is a medical doctor who specializes in the diagnosis and management of nervous system disorders, including diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. When examining a patient, our neurologists typically look at the nerves of the head and neck, muscle strength and movement, balance and reflexes, and cognitive abilities such as sensation, memory, speech and language. If you are coming to see us for seizures, memory problems or episodes in which you have lost consciousness, please bring someone with you who can help provide history and details that you might not recall.
