Confluence Health offers financial assistance to patients who qualify, and our team can walk you through your options, answer your questions, and help you apply. You don’t have to figure it out alone, and you should never put off the care you need because of cost. Reach out to us, and we’ll find a path forward together.

Charity Care

Charity care is our main financial assistance program. If you don’t have insurance, or your insurance doesn’t cover everything, charity care may pay for some or all of your Confluence Health bill. Whether you qualify depends on your household size and income (many working families do). Applying is free, and you can apply before your visit, after you get a bill, or any time in between.

  • All patients receiving healthcare services at Confluence Health
  • You don’t have health insurance, or your insurance doesn’t cover the full cost of your care, and
  • Your household income is at or below 300% of the *U.S. Poverty Level adjusted for family size
Additional Program Information
  • Approval lasts six months. After that, you will need to reapply so we can make sure you are still getting the right level of help.
  • We will ask about other resources first, like Medicaid or other coverage you may be eligible for. If you qualify for one of those programs, we will help you apply.
  • Charity care covers medically necessary care, but it doesn’t cover cosmetic services.
  • Household income is defined as a group of two or more people related by birth marriage or adoption who live together.
  • *Income limits are based on federal guidelines and updated once a year, so the amount you qualify for may change. To learn more please visit the Federal Poverty Guidelines here.
  • Contact the Patient Services Department: Call (509) 436-4020 or toll-free (888) 499-4801, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We’ll ask a few questions to see if you may qualify, and we’ll discuss other available programs such as Medicaid or Charity Care.
  • Complete the application: Fill out every section and include the documents listed on the form, such as proof of income. Please return it within 30 days of receiving it. Keep a copy for yourself.
  • Return the application:

Charity care and/or financial assistance means medically necessary hospital healthcare rendered to indigent persons when third-party coverage, if any, has been exhausted, to the extent that the persons are unable to pay for the care or to pay deductible or coinsurance amounts required by a third-party payer.

Financial assistance is available to all patients seeking medical services at Confluence Health.

Charity care will only be considered after all other financial resources available to the patient have been explored and exhausted. Patients whose household income is at or below less than 300% of HHS Poverty Level will be considered. Click here to view the U.S. federal poverty guidelines.
