Mother-Baby Care Visiting Information
Welcoming a new baby is a special and meaningful experience, and we want you and your family to feel supported, comfortable, and informed during your stay. This page offers important information about visiting hours, guest guidelines, safety, and amenities within our Mother‑Baby and Labor & Delivery units, so you know what to expect and can focus on what matters most caring for your new baby and yourself.
Visiting Hours & Guidelines
Mother/Baby visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting hours for Labor and Delivery may vary based on the patient’s condition and preferences. Please check with your nurse before inviting visitors.
The Mother/Baby Unit and Pediatrics Department are secured, locked units. All visitors must check in at the front desk upon arrival.
A Golden Hour: We promote the first hour after delivery as the “golden hour” in which the newborn remains skin-to-skin on the mother and breastfeeds. We encourage visitors to respect this important time of bonding.
Mothers may have up to three visitors at a time while in the Labor and Delivery Unit.
Staying at the bedside is dependent on the patient’s condition, available space, and safety considerations. Please ask your nurse for guidance.
We allow one overnight guest over the age of 16. No additional overnight guests or children requiring parental care may stay overnight. Children under age 12 must always be accompanied by an adult.
We encourage families to photograph their experience with their new baby. However, video recording of medical procedures is not permitted in the Mother/Baby Unit.
To protect patient privacy, visitors are not allowed to wait in hallways. Please visit your loved one in their room or wait in designated waiting areas.
The waiting room includes amenities such as seating, televisions, coffee, and vending machines.
Immediate family members may also use patient room service by purchasing a meal voucher for $7.50 at the Garden Room Cafeteria.
Staff Identification & Safety
For your safety and security, all staff members are required to wear identification badges at all times while working in patient care areas.
