Confluence Health is proud to highlight the arrival and impact of the new da Vinci 5 surgical robot, now in use at our Central Campus. This state of the art technology represents a major advancement in minimally invasive surgery and further strengthens our commitment to delivering leading edge care to patients across North Central Washington. The upgraded platform enhances precision, visualization, and surgeon comfort—all while reinforcing a key message: the robot does not operate on its own. Every movement is fully controlled by a trained Confluence Health surgeon.

With the new system, surgeons can perform complex procedures through smaller incisions, resulting in less tissue disruption and greater accuracy. High-definition 3D visualization and highly responsive instrument control allow for refined surgical movements that are not possible with the human hand alone. These advantages are paired with an improved ergonomic design that allows surgeons to work more comfortably, reducing physical strain during longer operations.

For patients, the benefits are clear. Numerous studies have shown that minimally invasive robotic procedures can lead to less postoperative pain, shorter hospital stays, and a faster return to normal activities when compared to traditional open surgery. These improved outcomes align with Confluence Health’s commitment to delivering high-quality care close to home.
