This new variant will have a large impact on our community and COVID vaccines and boosters will help prevent severe illness. We encourage you to get your booster now!
WHAT WE KNOW
- Omicron is incredibly infectious.
- The COVID vaccine and booster dose are your best defense against severe disease and hospitalization.
- Even if fully vaccinated, be cautious to prevent further spread of disease.
- You still have time to get your initial, FREE vaccine and booster dose.
- Unvaccinated people have a higher likelihood of severe disease and hospitalization than those who are vaccinated and boosted.
- Prepare for a high infection rate that could lead to caseloads overwhelming our healthcare and critical infrastructure.
Testing is a tool, however a negative test today, doesn’t ensure you will not develop COVID-like symptoms tomorrow. Please practice extra caution for the next 4 weeks.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Get your vaccination and booster as soon as possible.
- Stay home when sick. If symptomatic, call your healthcare provider for direction on testing.
- Stay home and away from other if you tested positive for COVID-19 and follow your healthcare provider’s counsel on how long to stay isolated.
- Wear a well-fitted mask, surgical and KN95’s are better than cloth masks.
