Doctoral Internship Program in Health Service Psychology

Thank you for your interest in our doctoral internship in health service psychology at Confluence Health!

Confluence Health is an integrated healthcare delivery system that includes two hospitals and more than 30 medical specialties and primary care that provide comprehensive medical care throughout North Central Washington. With over 300 physicians and 170 advanced practice providers, Confluence Health is the major medical provider between Seattle and Spokane. Our goal is to deliver high-quality, safe, compassionate, and cost-effective care close to home. In our behavioral health department, we provide initial assessment and focused individual and group therapy services, as well as psychiatric services. Our clinical staff includes psychiatrists, psychiatric ARNP’s, psychologists, counselors, and social workers, representing a range of theoretical orientations. Therefore, the training environment is enhanced by the richness of multidisciplinary and multi-theoretical influences.

The internship at Confluence Health begins the 1st week of August each year and is a 12-month (52 weeks) training program, including 3 weeks of paid time off (total = 1960 hours). Our program is designed to provide emerging professional psychologists an opportunity to solidify existing skills, learn new competencies, and integrate their identity as a psychologist. We strive to provide a program that balances both challenge and support while exposing interns to the variety of roles and experiences typical of a psychologist focusing on health service psychology.

All candidates that will be considered must have a master’s degree in psychology, mental health counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or another related field and must be eligible for master’s level licensure in Washington State at the Associate-level or above. If you match with us, our agency will provide extensive support in obtaining the required licensure. See the WA State DOH Mental Health Professions website link for more details.
