Valerie Dawson, MD

About

Dr. Valerie Dawson received her undergraduate degree in Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Maryland, graduating summa cum laude. She then went on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and was selected to join the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She completed her internship in internal medicine at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland followed by Ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado. Her medical and surgical interests include cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, eyelid surgery, and the medical treatment of retina diseases including diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.


Although originally born and raised near Annapolis, Maryland, Dr. Dawson has always been drawn to the outdoors and particularly the mountainous west. Wenatchee has been a wonderful place for her, her husband, and their dog to fulfill many of their hobbies including skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and running. She is thrilled to be a part of the Wenatchee community and the Eye Center at Confluence Health.
